found this on the floor behind my passenger seat. i think its from the railing, because now when i pull the lever to make the seat go forward, it doesnt slide forward on its own like it used to. you gotta give it a little push and it goes up all the way. and then when you're sliding it back into place, it feels like theres no resistance like there used to be. so does anyone have experience with the seat assembly that could help me out? thanks

Thats the spring that puts tension on your passenger seat when rear seat riders enter and exit. Its easy to put back - you can see the two mounting points if you look under your seat. Mine broke off ages ago and was lost. I have it ghetto rigged with bungee cord because I was sick of my seat sliding forward while passengers were entering when parked on a hill.

mine came off b4, i think its because the share pulls up quick that the spring just reflects back, and falls off, but its easy to put back on.

When you put the spring back on the seat; bend the ends alittle more to close the gap so that way it don't some out again.

On my celica' the same spring like thing broke off..i did try a ghetto technique to use a various parts (bungee cord, spring off something else), in the end a 12 dollar part of toyota was the key. Hari, from the pic it looks like its all there..nothings broke..it just needs to be put back in!

Ha, mine came off a couple of years ago and I looked like an idiot going to Toyota asking them what the hell it was. Didn't know about this site at the time 8)
