Where can i get a factory wiring harness?

Where can i get a factory wiring harness?

Postby methyl mike » Tue Nov 09, 2004 7:08 pm

I have a 99 solara and i purchased a new deck about a year ago. I sold the deck and now i want to put the stock deck back in but i come to find out the stereo place that did the install threw the old wiring harness away. So i called around, and no place sells the harness, and i called toyota, and they want-hold on-$1000.00 to build me an entire new wiring kit. All i need are the little plastic plugs that go into the back of the deck. Ill shoot myself before i pay a grand for a 5 cent piece of plastic. Help?

Go to a junkyard and cut one and wire it up... the dealer price is $1000 because they can't make you an end plug. They only sell the entire harness for the whole vehicle (virtually) lol . . .

I'm pretty sure that it is against the law to cut the wiring harness when installating a stereo, you'll have to check up on this for your area.

The12volt.com might also be a good resource

Like was said above just check with a junkyard

Against the law?You know the one thing thats really been on my mind is that what if they knew these things are worth money? Maybe they cut it out and sold it. I will be pissed if i find that out, very very pissed. How do i go about finding out if what they did is illegal? Id like to pursue this.
