I want to upgrade my exhaust on my 02 Solara, it's completely stock, would JPP catback pipes and muffler matched up to the stock headers and y pipe work ok or just go with the TRD muffler. I'm just looking for some performance gain.
post in the correct forums.

Well those two options are totally different. The TRD muffler is quieter and doesn't offer nearly as much performance.

The JPP Set up would be more powerful and aggressive for sure.

i want straight pipes, either duals out the sides or out the back i want the loudest period. and bc i got sweet connections its only going to be like 150 bucks. ive always liked the look of the HKS carbon-ti muffler.

i was wondering if i could get burnt tips on piping, i want straight 2-1/2" to 3" piping from the cats and thats it, it would be ince to burn the tips or else im painting the pipes black.

sry for my lack of feedback to your question

Please don't.

Be considerate of the drivers more intelligent than you.

Oh, and are you asking if you should get JUST the TRD muffler, or the catback? You'll get absolutely no performance gains by just replacing the muffler.

even though my car is only a 4 banger... i have a 2.5" piping from the cat-back, off brand muffler, w/o a resonator. its loud... loud enough that the second day that i got the piping (i got my muffler put on 1st) i got a ticket for my exhaust being 2 loud. so i put in a silencer and that seems too keep the po-po's attention away so far. well... its still loud though... if u think 150 for 2.5" cat-back pipng is cheap... try $52.06

Catback company

Postby DonkeKong » Tue Nov 30, 2004 7:50 pm

I def want to get a catback for my car because i dont want it to be loud unless its actually helping performance, but i do want it to be pretty loud, cant go custom cuz of rents. So... with performance and sound as the top priorities what would be the difference between like jpp, greddy, apexi, or any other brand im unaware of?
