switch idea's

switch idea's

Postby Akfahad » Fri Nov 19, 2004 3:49 pm

so i'm putting in some neons and i drilled 2 holes for 2 switches...i put the switches right in front of the shifter (gotta put some pics up for you guys). anyway, the way my buddy and i wired it, we only needed the one switch to have the neons come on when i open the door or if i want to have them on while i'm driving, i can do that with the same switch. my question is, what do i do with this extra switch?? i don't want to take it out, cause then i have a visible hole. any idea's?? josh

Wrong section, this is for tutorials, but if I were in your position I would figure out something cool to hook up to that switch, maybe neons under the pass and drivers seat or some other interior lights in addition to your illuminated entry.

Or you could always do washer nozzle lights if you want to disgrace us, hehe :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

So you have a 2 channel switch? Sweet. I have 2 switches because I like to switch on the dome light if I need it without having to reach back. I have 5 switches total in my car. And a really good use for one of them is a switch for the remote wire to your amp (if you have a system). So you can kill your subs if there's a piggy nearby and you don't want to let them think that you want a ticket. Or you can wire it up to your windshield wipers so you don't accidently flip them on when it's not raining. Just some ideas.

Well, one of the switches I have is for my reverse lights. :D
Since the 'altezza' style lights are round, I am planning on retrofitting a 9006 super white there so I can blind any bastard that's tailing me. Would be better to retrofit a projector in there

i was thinkin about hooking up doing the illuminated entry too, and maybe under the seats - but has anyone tried doing this with LEDs? seems like it would be easier to fit them under the dash, and no worry about shattering the tube.

Wow. I'd love to see that. You can justify that easy enough - so you can see where you're backing up.

Except it doesn't work too good with the stock taillights. One advantage to the aftermarket taillights, more light projection. And a $101 dollar ticket here in Washington

I've tried led's under the dash. It wasn't good. It's a total beeatch because of the projection angle. I've got neons under the dash and led's under the seats. You'll never have to worry about them breaking. Just mounting led's can be a bitch.
