with 18x7.5 you would want to go with +42 offset or lower. +40 offset would be better.. if you get anything with 8" width rims you should go with +38 or lower.

only becuase if you are lowered on tokico or even stock struts. it can rub.

yea, I hav 18x8 rims and i initially had 245/40/18's on them and that rubbed on the strut and inside the fender on the back. So, i got 225/40/18's and its perfect now. So, yea i'd def listen to wat they said  . Anyway, good pick on rims, I like em.

the first set of number is the width of the tire.

if you go higher in width you can go with 235, 245, 255

225/40/18:

225
^Width in MM Typically 225 is made for anything from 7" to 8"
40
^Side wall in MM
18
^Wheel Size

I'm pretty sure you can fit those rims ez. i think you're gunna be best with 245/40/18, but 225/40/18 should work too. I'd rather have the 245's cause those would get a little more traction i think. thats how I understand it anyway

245 is typically too wide for the solara. Some have trouble with 235.
I've gone thru so many sets of wheels and was told to stay away from 245 even with 8.5 width rim from every shop i have been too.

If you want to be sure you can Call Vic and Discount tire in El monte. Look it up on yahoo. hes a expert on rims I always to go him if i have anything wheel/suspension wise that needs to be done.

Yea 245 is DEFINITELY toooooo wide for Solaras . . . unless you plan to widen your fenders. 245s are better on 8.5-9" wide rims, but being that our cars can fit 8.5" I still would say that you shouldn't use such wide tires. Yes you'd get more traction, but you'd get some phatty rubbing too.
