
basically thats what your looking for to bring your power wire into the car safe. Keep in mind I have an 02 and yours might be different, After removing the groumet, you might have to enlarge the hole, but make sure you use a wire groumet, this is one that snaps into the size hole you made and has a opening for the wire to pass through.
As far as your cap goes, the CORRECT way to to slowly charge it. Just about all of them come with some form of resistor to slow down the charge, some even come with terminals with leds that let you know when it is full. Tapping it before hand just gets you a big spark, and if your gonna do that then just do in the car its the same difference. Also when you connect your ring terminals, it looks like you have the crimpless terminals, if done properly, it will never come lose, and over a power transfer that long the last thing you want to introduce is a lead resistor. Follow everything else and you should be fine.
