i also backed up missay b/c i'm in the same situation. i, too, was greatful that i could afford a car, on my own, at 17. maybe there is some miscommunication going on here. and just to remind you i didn't come on here and insult you. if i did, i used it as an example.

A word of advice: the best way to get people to stop making ridiculous posts is to ignore them and not respond.

As Krooked Solara correctly points out, a person making a lot of stupid posts only humiliates himself/herself, and it becomes pretty obvious to anyone reading them. If you feel the need to defend yourself, you only need to do it once. After that, ignore the inevitable response or you risk lowering yourself to their level.

Personally, I don't enjoy reading this type of back and forth stuff. It's kind of disappointing to start reading an interesting thread that disintegrates into a juvenile argument.
