Underbody Neon Installation

Underbody Neon Installation

Postby SolaraGuy22 » Fri Dec 31, 2004 11:23 am

First of all Happy New Year to everyone.

I will be installing my underbody neons tomorrow since that is the only time that was available for the lift. Are there any tips or tricks to make it a smooth installation? Hopefully I can hide the tubes as best as I can until I buy side skirts. How many of you have done this already?

Thanks for your help,
-Anthony

I have white neon underglows...

installation was pretty easy... all of my tube are hidden..

I used alot of wire ties to make sure the wires are all secure and in tack...

Are they hidden because you have the TRD kit or in general they would be hidden?

Does anyone have any DIY pics or links? Or if you really wanna be nice grab your cam and take a couple for me?

Actually nevermind, I just got done putting them on. They look sweet. I have to get side skirts to hide the bulbs. They aren't that visible though. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

I will put detailed pictures and better pictures along with some instructions (it's pretty simple once you see what you're working with)

Take care

FLASH, you don't really have much to work with but I will get some detailed pics for you, along with some instructions. With the way they are put on you need side skirts to hide them. That's where Artic Mike with the kits come in. I'll get back to you in a day or two.

finally finished my cardomain page...page 5 has my car with the underbody kit. wish the pictures came out better.

Install wasn't all that bad, but i had a prior electrical wiz help me out. i should've took pictures, but I secured the two side tubes by drilling thru the metal piece that comes down from the frame where you would put the jack to take your tire off. that was kinda a pain. you'll definitely need some zip ties for the excess wires between tubes.
As for the front, there really isn't much there to fasten it to. i ended up mounting it behind a rectangular plastic piece below the radiator.
The back, i unscrewed one of the fastener's for the rear bumper and slid the tube up in there.

hope that helps for anybody

That's pretty much what I did, I'll take some close ups of the clips and screws that were put in place. I just bought a TRD kit from Michael which will cover up the side ones that are visible.

Hey Akfahad what brand do you have? They don't seem that bright. I believe we placed ours in the same place too.
