are you just painting over the stock form, or gutting it, or meshing it? in white i think maybe the stock form would look kinda kool. do it.

I think it will look good but I would not go to a dealer. I'm planning to just paint mine black in the spring with a good ole cheapo black rattle can paint.

dealers are great for major services (tranny flush, engine decarb, etc). NOT for modifications. Just take it to a bodyshop. Also, i think if your painting the grill your cars' color, i think it will look weird (esp since you have a silver, would look good on white, black, but not silver).

I'm currently working on my grill. I found a site that sells touch up paint in 12 oz. spray cans. They make them up per order and you order by paint code. You can also order clearcoat in the same size. I have paint code 209 (black sand pearl) and after a painting a test piece, it does have the pearl mixed in. It does look good. :D Man, I can't wait till this rain quits, I want to start painting!
Anyways, if your interested in ordering some paint, I got it at Automotive Touchup. Although the baasecoat is 24.95 and the clear coat is 13.95, to me it's worth it. How much would you pay a shop to do it?

i got the quote today, its from a body shop at the dealership just so you all know that i used to work at, so its chill, but they said 106, and no guarantees that it would stay on the chrome, i work at a caddillac dealership now, and i saw an escalade that had it completely painted and it struck me that it would look good, not to mention my sisters mazda 6 is the same way

Just sand it down, the chrome layer isn't very thick.

I originally painted mine black pearl. Unfortunately, I didn't like the pearl clearcoat I used, because it made it very gray. That's why I got the black sand pearl touch up paint. :D

thanks for the link....the several paintshops i visited either didn't want to even bother paint matching the grill cuz it would be too hard or they would have to keep my car for a few days to make sure it was done right while charging me a bundle :x

so i just ordered the spray 051 and clear coat for less than $50 and i hopefully it'll come out to my liking. thanks again
