CD Player skips???

CD Player skips???

Postby impactX » Tue Nov 19, 2002 6:31 pm

Well I have this cd player
Image

The problem is... when I played BURNT cd (CDR), it always skips when I go thru bumpy roads. My question is, do you guys have the same problem with burnt cd (CDR)?

I went to a service department of Toyota (that I will never go back again), they said the cd player plays only original disks... I was like wtf, it didn't say I can't play burnt disc when I buy the car...

Anyways, thanks for your input!
Much appreciated!

Thanks very much!

I guess I will go to another service department and ask for a replacement.

I really hate the service dept I used to go to...

my cd player pisses me off BIG TIME..i've kinda grown to luv it tho...i have to insert the disk in just the right way..usually the entire first 7 tracks will skip or like the first 5-30secs of the first song will player over and over. i have to take the cd out, wipe in on my clothes, then stick it back in. usually it will play fine after, but sometimes u gotta mess around w/ it until it works. luckily, it doesn't really skip at all like when i go over bumpy roads 8) (this is why, when i burn a cd, i put my favorite songs after the 6th track :)..isn't that weird?)

That's strange. I have played burned CDs ad infinitum in my car and have experienced skips maybe 2-3 times TOTAL, usually after having traveled over the fine pot-holed roads in Providence.

but on my old OEM three-in-one (by Fujitsu-Ten, I think), I've rarely had problems with it unless it was a huge ditch.

Hey nothing wrong with the factory look Gunman!! :)

I just replaced my single CD unit with in dash 6 CD unit, and loving it..

I don't know... Single DIN aftermarket stereos doesn't look good in our double DIN stereo housing.. I might consider investing some money on double DIN aftermarket head unit..
