Passenger window and door alignment problem?

Passenger window and door alignment problem?

I've got a 2001 Solara w/ only 27k miles on it, and the passenger door window has a problem. I guess I can describe it as 'it rolls up too far' sometimes. It hits the windguard and in extreme cases, actually stops the door from closing unless you really slam it, and even then the window actually ends up on the outside of the windguard, so the door doesn't seal. I just want to know if this is a common problem before I take it to the dealer. They sounded like they had heard of the problem before and they said the window would require some adjusting.

Thanks in advance!!

Do some searching before you post, it's been discussed already.

I think you pput the windguards on to low. When I had mine, there was no room for error. My driver side was a tad to low and always rubbed when closing the door. On the other hand, my passenger side was perfect. You might need to re-install the windguard.

I already did a search in gen 1-1.5 and found a few posts, but none had any solid answers. Geez I feel like im on the subaru nazi forums. :) I recall someone said something about warped hinges, but I don't think thats my problem. As for the windguards, they came with the car when I bought it, but can I adjust them myself? I'd rather do anything myself than take it to the dealer. It also seems to happen intermittently, if that helps any. Sometimes it doesnt rub at all, sometimes it lightly hits the windguard and closes, and sometime it completely stops the door from closing unless you slam it shut.

Cheers!
