Questions for Yanks

Questions for Yanks

I was looking on cardomain and I was wondering what size tire and rim (offset) do you have on your car and does TRD (TSW) make an 18" rims?

I love those Toyo tires (T1-S), how is the handling?

The reason I ask is because I was racing on my stock 16" tires and rims and my car has a ton of oversteer at about 60+. I understand I need to lower the car with awesome springs and struts to minimize the cars understeer but with 18" rims and tires how much difference will it make?

THANKS BRO

Hey man, i'm glad to help you. Many other people on this forum also have the TSW rims and toyo tires. The rims were from my TRD stage 1 package so i could only get the 17 inch rims. TSW does make an 18 inch version of the rims, but they will cost you a lot. I love my toyo tires. They are amazing for traction and they also look great. Some people have complained that they wont last you that long, but thats true of any hi-grip tire.

As for lowering you should do eibach pro springs with tokico blue struts. This makes a hugeee difference

Toyo Proxes tires are not the greatest tire. Most people who have had those on their TRD/TSW Revos have changed them out for a better tire. The Toyos are known to wear unevenly and have poor grip in comparison to Yokohamas and etc.

theres about 6 (i think?) different proxes tires...the T1-S's are the highest performance. i've driven a solara with the stock suspension and the yokohama parada spec-2's, and my tires definitely felt stickier (or grippier, whatever)

I was making the comparison to higher rated tires like the Yokohama AVS Sport and Michelin Pilot Sport. T1-S's are garbage.

i thought the parada II's were one of the best yokohama tires?
and while the TIS's may not be the best, theyre DEFINITELY not garbage! im sure many people with them would agree...

Postby guest » Wed Nov 20, 2002 3:15 pm

As in comparison to what, Nitto, Yokohoma's (they suck), Pirelli's, or how aboiut goddyear (lol)?

Toyo is not the top tire but worthj the money in some cases.

Personally, I am very happy with my T1-S. I need spin them, they are great in the rain. Once i upgrade my suspensino i will probally get different tires. I essentially got them for free with my rims because you save so much when you buy the stage 1 package.

Granted there are better, but for my needs, and the price (free) I love them
