For daily driving, I'd definately recommend the Tein over the JIC. If you go autocrossing and really want your game there, then I'd go with the JIC. It depends on how hardcore you want your handling.

I was just messing with the dampening level of my SS... 2 clicks from my original setting (16 clicks total) can destroy the handling to work than stock... I just figured that out when a 4runner took me at a canyon... lol... I forgot I adjusted it from my original setting...

---

I only said the JIC is hard to tune because you'd have to put it on a lift and, in mike's case, take it off the car to adjust... then to see the results, you'd have to obviously install it, test it, retune, etc... The tein is a simple turn of the knob (easily done by hand)

how much did you end up spending on them jeff??? im thinkin at the end of the year about gettin a set of TRUE coilovers.

I was reading a post on TN, that was talking about the JIC's and they said they were junk, and that they used KYB stock struts and shocks?

Don't shoot the messenger, just what I hear.

Looks like Wraith knows more about them.

Oh and also read that thread about D2coilovers/ksport

i read along with the discussion when it was posted a while ago. The drifter guys say its crap because of the hardcore use on the track/going into the dirt etc etc. I hang out with a bunch of drifters who prefer the Tien coilovers over the JIC's since the Tien rides softer for more bounce as well as the durability of the shocks due to not being as stiff. On the other hand, there are guys out there with either Corollas or 240s that like the JIC's for track grip use where most of the time the road is smoother and more friendly. The added stiffness is a plus to reduce weight transfer which the Tien is softer to promote slight weight shifting and added control while drifting. Hope that clears up and confusion for people. 8)
