You open up your headlamp housing and stick the projectors in there. It's a tough job. I couldn't even get my lamp opened.

maybe if you rub the lamp. . . :P j/k
sounds tough. how would you go about opening it? are there tabs or is it "sealed" like the corners?

okay, here's goes my $2.00 regarding projector housings.

Yes, you may just stick a pair of projectors inside a headlamp, but the real problem is having them aligned so that the beam are even, instead of looking like The Rock when he does his eyebrow thing.

Yes, you'll lose your high beam when you decide to put projectors inside the housing, unless you put in high beam projectors. I doubt both will fit in one housing. Also, splicing the existing wires to make two different connectors will be quite a task. Chances are good that you'll lose your high-beam when you put in an HID kit anyway, unless you get a dual-beam HID kit.

Lastly, if you guys, and gals of course, want to tamper with the idea of projector housing, a heat gun will definately go a long way in prying the lense off the housing.

There are various complications that come along with a project like this, so be prepared for anything. It's not quite as easy as it looks, but of course we all knew that right?

Oh yeah, one last thing for those who want to take on this task, make sure to have another lamp handy since you wouldn't be caught in a predicament where you've chopped up your lamp, but didn't finish in time for nightfall. Also, buy a set of quality projectors, i.e. Hella, since you're already spending that much time and money into the project.

For more reading, definately swing by the FAQ on lighting here:

The 2002 headlights are different, maybe you could somehow have your headlights swapped with an 02 and up style.

Probably wouldn't fit since the high-beam part sort of dips down.

Yes, the 2002+ are no longer h4 dual filament bulbs. If you were to add projectors or HIDs then the hi beam would still exist.

Sorry about that, didn't double check the link. How about giving Puma a call here at (800) 333-7862. Haven't called them in a while, but hopefully they carry 90mm or 120mm projector units. The part number for the H7 E-code projector is 1BL 008 193 007. Poke around here for some info

Why buy brand new when there are tons of Audi, BMW, and other quality projectors are out on ebay for fraction of cost?

Yes, Sky is right, If you are going to try this custom mod, get yourself a extra pair of headlight housing... I already located a pair from a junk yard in my town.

Also, read and study that link above! I've read it like 10 times...

After researching around, I found out that using the baking oven is the best way to pry open the headlight housing...

This project definitely requires crafty skills.. so don't bother if you are not a handy person.
