Lost keys - How to change keyless entry

Hi,

I lost my keys and keyless entry remote to my 2001 Solara. I'm kind of worried that someone might have taken the keys and possibly have access to the car and drive off with it. I am contemplating two options:

Change the keyless entry coding so that if someone tries to use the remote it will not work and somone will not be able to locate the car easily

or

Change all of the locks + remote transmitter for optimum security

I'm leaning towards the first option since it will be much cheaper (I think)

Do you think that should be enough to make sure someone with these keys won't find the car it goes to? If so, how much should I expect the procdure to be?

Thanks

You can rekey all your locks (around 1000... ouch)

or just ask Toyota for assistance (if you service at a dealer, they will help). They can replace your ecu (trade) and all you have to pay for is programming the keys and install... which should be an hour labor.

Lexus provides this service so Toyota may have it... that way the guy may get into your car, but can't drive off (at least...)
