Accident may = new body kit

Accident may = new body kit

I have a 99 solara as we all probably know by now, any way I had many intentions of putting a TRD body kit on it, which I still may, I left my car sitting at a meter over night as I became shall we say to in-toxicated to drive it home, Ill be damned if I didnt come to get it yesterday and some a$$ hole had hit it right in the back right and didnt leave a note or NEthing, but whatever hell get his/hers someday, wha hahahaha, but anyway this mashed my bumper in pretty good and dented my Quarter panel a bit. My options are to fix/or get a new bumper which I would probaly just fix and stick with the TRD kit or get a kit that comes with a whole back bumper. I was looking at this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... ename=WDVW[/url] and I was wondering has anyone got this kit, is it a good one, aka durable, no cracking and did it fit right, aka no gaps and easy to install. Let me know your opinions on this situation as i am driving myself to suicide thinking about this and I want My BABY FIXED  ahhhh ahahhh, thanks guys, later

if you get that kit, it will not be a direct bolt on... the shop will have to adjust a bit... i stay just get your bumper fixed and stick with the TRD kit...
my .02 cents... good luck with that...

I have the same kit and I love the look. But, the kit may cost $350, but installation will cost a couple thousand...not to mention paint. If you mold it, it will be cheaper labor time but you'll have to paint more (I had the whole car painted). If you don't mold it, it will cost way more labor time, thus more money. I payed nearly 5 g's for everything. I'd stay with TRD if you are worried, if not just be careful and you'd be fine.
I'll bet that you'll probably get a new bumper, so if you go TRD, then have it all painted at the same time. Also, I forget to mention that you'll have to go dual cat-back exhaust and if you want it covered by your insurance you'll have to pay extra.

molded kit:

This is my new pic, I got into an accident and got a new front bumper (no fogs and no mold -recommended since it flexes a lot).

it looks like you didnt strap it on the bottom larry or am i wrong???

to stop it from flexing just run some metal supports from the bottom to the frame. i did and it worked wonders.

^^It is and was, I think I got cracks on the seams mostly from hittin the floor going up curbs and shlock-dock-wikki-wacki-dacki. It doesn't take much for it to start cracking either, so I find it much better not molding it so I don't have to worry about it.

if you end up getting a whole new bodykit, hit me up and i'll see if i can get u a good price. the site on ebay lists it for 375 plus 200 S/H. that's almost 600. i think i can get it for you for cheaper than that. let me know and i'll go price searching for you.

I went to my body guy today which is the coolest guy ever, I got a couple quotes today at other prices just cause he wasnt home and they all wanted roughly a grand. I have sent a couple dozen people to his shop including myself so he is real good to me. All his workers have the day off on valentines so he is gonna pull it in on that day and do it for just the cost of paint which is 400 bucks. I was sooo happy , its still 400 bucks and Im not about to claim this as my insurance sucks. So thattl be that, so TRD it still is, once I can afford it again..
Thanks for the replys,
one thing though, does anyone know if our rear bumper is filled with foam or anything that may have been pushed in on the very corner, it doesnt feal like it, it feals hollow on the other side except for the actual steel bumper part. Thanks later
