starting price

Postby hskrsolara » Fri Feb 04, 2005 9:26 pm

That price is a bit extreme for what it is going to cost to get that front clip re-worked and for having 90k. I would guess around 3750 - 4000 would get some takers.

no idea. all he said was that he took it to a reliable body shop and they said there was not frame damage. just lots of labor charge. i guess he is low on funds and cant afford to get it fixed.

so if any of you guys are body experts, this may be a good deal for you. I told him to try and sell it on solaraguy so we'll see what happens.

i heard its still your fault if you swerve to avoid hitting an animal... i dunno just something i heard

but i guess its better than saying "Oh I was trying to drift down the freeway! Its pretty fun officer... you should try it!"

OK, I'm here..the owner of this talked about one. LOL

Postby Brazenhawk » Tue Feb 08, 2005 9:46 pm

A special thanks to Jazz for introducing me to this site. It wasn't until a couple of hours before the Ebay auction ended that I had up.

Yeh, I know. Sounds like an "excuse"...but my wife really did have the wreck and it was really on my b-day! :o

And honestly..I don't think she swerved to miss a dog-cat chase...I think she was trying to put on her make-up! LOL

But one poster was correct, you hit a parked vehicle and its "your" fault..period. Thats why insurance will not cover it and its been sitting. Try living in CA where the medium AVERAGE 3 bedroom house is $330K, gas is $2.20 a gallon right now, have a wife and kids...and I'm a working person like most of us are...this all equals BROKE most of the time.

So I have two choices. Sell it...or try to fix it on a tight budget. I had already saved and bought some very nice Voxx 17" wheels for it. Have got my speaker setup paid for (All Pioneer...2-12's, 2-6X9 four ways, 2-6.5 round four ways and a pair of custome small three ways), but after the news from the insurance company, I knew it was not going to get fixed anytime soon. And instead of seeing it sit and gather dust, I put it up for sale.

If someone can give me some good repair advice, where I can fix it on a budget, I'll try that. I do love the car, its been PERFECT with no troubles period and I would LOVE to keep it...but I can't keep what I can't afford. So if its too much for my pocket, and someone wants a real nice project car, I'd sell it. It still runs and drives fine. The damagage is on the body, passenger front light direct hit area. And the electrical fuse box that sits on the front passenger fender well was cruched, so it will need to be replaced. other than that, I still start her up every few days and drive it around the yard area here (we are on about 5 acres) just to keep it warmed up.

I found a R34 body kit for it. For those who have not seen it, take a look. I think it really makes the Solara trick! The whole kit is only $330 local pickup in the LA area..otherwise its $300 with $170 shipping to anywhere in the US.

So now I'll just wait and see if I can get some good advise on the repair. if too much then I'll have to sell it. :(

It does have clean title, I'm the 3rd owner, she has about 93K miles, SLE loaded, never been abused, raced, etc. And always well maintained, serviced all basics every 3K miles, never had a problem, never had a fluid leak. I better stop here before I get more depressed! :drinking:

Best regards!
