Should i get a Solara?

...it's a matter of preference and taste....but consider this...

1. 25-27 in town; 31-33 highway....

2. 70k: no real problems (electric window switch under warranty).......lately some buttons on the JBL quit working.....

3. $20 oil/filter chg; $200 60k service; cheap insurance.....

4. AND it's a SE-V6 stick (has real nice clutch takeup/gear change) .....no longer offered (but you can get a 4-cyl stick)..ez

I'd get the 03 Solara,

Hey you going to Harrisburg, I live right outside of harrisburg, in Lemoyne.
Maybe you can swing by when you buy your new car. If your thinking about customizing your car at all, maybe I could give ya couple pointers. The solaras could use another young buck. Its seems like all the solaras around here are owned by old people. You'll see what I mean :o

Yeah, that would be awesome.. Other then my parents, and thier friends.. I dont know anyone in Harrisburg..
We Live in the Lower Paxton township, off of Linglestown Rd in a subdivision called "Quail Hollow" and that is off Crums Mill Rd.

My parents have been living in Harrisburg for 3 years now, they own the Orkin Pest Control franchise there, and they are getting ready to get Perry, and York counties also, so i know a little bit about harrisburg.
Thanks alot! -- You should send me pics of your Solara..

Btw, about the previous post someone said about the gas tank.. I know it is quite a bit bigger then my malibu's. but my malibu gets like 21-23 avg on the highway.. and thats not even being that hard on it!

I have a good idea of where thats at. Maybe we could hang out some time.
I never really took pics of my car, but I'll bring my car so that you could take a look. Its a supercharged 2000 though, (its for sale  ) but just about the same as 03. Are you in town yet?, or are you still in the process?

Postby papaae » Wed Feb 09, 2005 7:14 pm

just get the six banger, don't worry about insurance you will enjoy the performance difference on simple things like accelerating to highway speeds.
the 4 is good but the 6 is def. better

I would recomend getting a v6 if you can help it. I got a 99 se v6 manual around 9500. It only had 61k on it. I understand you want a car with less than 30k, but lets be honest here. Your buying a toyota. A company that is know for its quality. You should be able to run that car up to 200k with hardly any maintence. I went from a chevy to a toyota for this very reason. I hate admitting it, but i face the fact. (yep im a chevy guy who went and bought a toyota) Also your concerned about the insurance. I went from a camaro to a solara. My insurance for the 97 camaro was a bit less than 180. With my 99 solara v6 is like 135 a month. Thats with a perfect record too. No accidents or tickets. Personally the few extra bucks a month for the solara v6 i think is worth it. I would call your insurance and find out how much more it would be for a v6 solara.
