This is again 2nd hand info, i remember reading this at sc3 sites..Ryan (flipside) had visited a dealership where he inspected two new 2002 camrys, one was a v6le (made in usa) that used the 5speedauto (vvti) and the other xlev6 02 camry was made in japan (vin started with j...)..any how the xle was nonvvti, and the us-made was vvti. Hence my previous comment.

I met a guy w/ a 02 Camry S/C'd and it was not VVT-i... other than that, I have no clue =P
