Homemade oil catch can and oil filter relocator

Homemade oil catch can and oil filter relocator

Postby SleeperSolara » Mon Feb 28, 2005 10:52 am

Is it possible to cut the tube near the oil blow-by area between the 2 rubber hoses, and put a "T" fittin' on there and route that to a can, let's say a power steerin can from a salvage yard or somethin', to let the oil drip in there.

Also is there anyone on this forum that has an oil filter relocator kit on their Solara??
Cause everytime i look in my engine bay, i see if i can fit a relocator kit somewhere.
I was thinkin' about mountin' like the "Tony-theTiger" camry, near the oil cap.
But wouldn't hest from the exhaust be an issue??

I have an air breather on the valve cover vent without a catch can. The air breather filter is saturated with oil at this point and a tiny bit leaks out every once in a while.

As you can see, I am not concerned with a show car engine bay.

I was thinkin' about doin that.
But the can would help catch the oil.

Well i was goin to use a power steering tank from a toyota at a salvage yard as a catch can.
And run a "T'" fittin' in the blow-by hose, to the another power steering from the salvage yard.
