Greddy Evo II Catback Exhaust For a 4 Cylinder Solara ?

Postby 1st Gen Sol » Thu Mar 03, 2005 10:59 am

Wussup guys.

I wanted to know if any of you guys on this forum have a 4 cylinder Solara with a Greddy EVO II exhaust ?

I've been contemplating on getting one but I have gotten mixed answers. Two of my friends that work at different Toyota dealerships say that it will fit b/c the piping is the same along with the flange. The other says that the piping is different in size and it won't fit......

Please let me know if you guys know the real answer to my question and if you guys have another type of exhaust that would go good with a 4 cylinder Solara........Thanks............

as far as i know, you can use the Greddy Evo2 exhaust on either i4 or v6 models...its a direct bolt on.

Thats what I've also been told. I just sent Solarat a private messege so hopefully he gets back to me.

Hoping that it is direct bolt on with no problems, then I can get my car an exhaust........ :D

use the search function...

since the gen1 piping diameter is the same (2.25") for both the i4 and v6, the greddy evo1 and evo2, the apexi ws and ws2, and the trd muffler will all be able to fit as a direct bolt on...

Someone posted a video of that and I think it sounded mean. Meaner than a V6, which is kinda funny. I4s will have meaner exhaust rumbles than V6 because V6 is too smooth to begin with. Just listen to an SRT-4 with an aftermarket exhaust.

I saw the video clips of the Solara with the Greddy Exhaust.......I didn't know his was a 4 cylinder.

Thanks for the feedback & info, I just wanna to make sure everything fits with no custom modifications needed before I spend a nice chunk of change on my car...... :)

Yea im pretty sure it fits. I picked up Solarat's Greddy when he was parting out and I too have an I4. Its still sitting in my living room pending a nice day, but I have no worries of it fitting.

Louis and I hang out a lot and I've seen his Greddy II on his car (before he sold it) and believe me, you will love it! As a matter of fact, he will be helping me install MY Greddy II this weekend (I CAN'T WAIT!!!) so if you are still debating on whether you should get it or not, you can stop wondering and do it, you will NOT regret it, TRUST ME! (PS. Because of his ride is why I decided to get a Greddy myself)

You need a bolt or a o2 sensor to plug the hole where the o2 sensor would go in.

SweedT6 wrote:Yes, but I think the confusion is on two different topics.

#1. Both v6 and i4 have the exact same piping and flang for aftermarket cat back systems.

#2. Correct, the flang on the i4 and v6 are milimeters different. i.e. I tried to put a stock muffler from a v6 on my i4 pipe and the holes did not line up on the flang for the muffler to bolt right up. In result the i4 piping could not be used with the v6 muffler.

Post this up on whatever thread you had this issue on. Hopefully that clears it up.

Thanks,
Louis

Well this is what I got from Louis in response to my questiion. I guess as long as I get an aftermarket exhaust (Greddy Evo II.... :D ) I will be good....and an old o2 sensor or bolt just to cover up the hole for the o2 sensor.

I thought I was the only one on this forum with a 4 cylinder........

Thanks guys for all of your helpful information and knowledge... :D
