The pic is a photoshopped of the 2 front valences on Alex's ride. As for the grille, that's the real deal, which btw looks hella clean.

haha...thought that looked familiar!

anyways, yes the trd kit and eyelids was photoshopped prior to getting the trd kit...

the grill was done by TITO (forum name) and he did indeed do a helluva job but he does not make them anymore...use search and you'll find some threads that tell you how to DIY...

I think I'll have time this week to do mine... I'll try to make a DIY out of it. I'm not anticipating it being a big deal: socket set, dremel rotary tool, some wire. I'll do what I can to throw some pics up.

The process of making a DIY tutorial... yeah thats simple and quick, but to work on it and making it presentable takes quite some time... GOOD LUCK lol

Then again, the above grille is MUCH simpler than what I did on mine back then

Removing grille and aftermarket grilles

Postby Tested999 » Fri Mar 11, 2005 7:56 am

Okay, how do you remove the grille from a '99 Solara? Why do they all look like the chrome starts flaking off after a while (stock grille)? I'm wondering if I should remove the grille, spray some black primer on it and then spray some chrome paint over it. Also, does anyone know of aftermarket grilles for the '99 Solara?

Mine has the 3.0 liter V-6 with Denso Iridium plugs and K&N air filter, 110k miles, and I just put on some Yokohama's (had Dunlops, pretty good handling) on 16-inch wheels. Best car I've ever owned. Thanks!

Proposed customized grill for Gen 1 and 1.5

Postby michaels artic frost » Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:33 am

I actually sat in a parking lot one day and noticed this red gen 1 with all of the chrome still in tacked on the grille. I was quite amazed by this seeing how everyone else's had flaked off.

Give me some time, I'm determined to make something for you gen 1/1.5s and hope to have it in the summer.
