That's great you have a good relationship with your dealership. Discounted huh? You acutally paid for that from all your services. I get discounted parts at cost...not a 10 or 20% discount. Discount on your new car? I can do better than that...it's called fleet department and paying around or at invoice without the salesman b/s and his commission.

*clap* i'm happy for you.... really, i am....

Thank you! :::takes a bow:::
Great for you! and knowing is half the battle. Amazing what line of defense people have and say when they're at the mercy of their dealership lol. Especially after the fact they've already paid them so much money and they can't really do anything about it anymore. Now that's comedy. :D :roll:

Wow...it's almost time to close this thread. Redsolara, your options are laid out. It's up to you to decide what you want to do with the 30k service.

Good Luck! ;)

I think its plain and simple. Do what you want and what you are confortable with. At first when i had work done, i'd let the toyota dealer do it. Or when i first got my stereo installed, i paid someone to do it. Now i have installed about 20 stereos, and i could take apart and put back together my whole interior. I would never pay someone to install audio equipment for me now, but before i would of. If you are confortable enough around the engine, they do the regular maintence urself. If not take it to the dealer, but stick around, watch what they do and ask questions. Its the only way to learn. One bit of advice, remember, you may love and care for your baby, but to a toyota mechanic its just another car. I personally don't let anyone touch my car unless i am there to watch

Don't all dealerships give there customers discounts?(sarcasm)
I have been in sales with dealerships a long time I know the ins and outs of service and sales. The only pro about going to a dealership to have service done is comfort, and some times thats priceless. Be careful and dont trust a dealer unless you work there or you own it. And thats excluding KINDERHOOK TOYOTA. (Eddie hooked me up with a S/C)
