As you all very well know Rizal, JoeB and I have had extensive work done to our Solara's. Expensive some will say but, you get what you pay for.

My major concern has been how do I get the power that I know my engine makes to the ground with a single traction FWD car.

That issue has been resolved. No longer do the manual shift Solara owners have the luxury of a LSD and us auto guys do not.

I have had my differential removed by Carlos Jr. at ArrietaMotorSports and shipped for the necessary modification.

Upon return the single wheel launch will be a thing of the past. I really look forward to Apr 9, 2005 at MIR!! 8)

Too excited!! 8)

Greg, you'll LOVE it! Traction is SO much better and say bye bye to that torque steer! I actually saw smoke coming off my driver's side tire for a change :o ! I can't wait to see what it does to my 60' time. 1 time I took off around a corner spinning the wheels just to se how much more control I had, very impressive! Money well spent. -JoeB

So this topic has been reviewed over a 160 times and no one else has any ideas about the other makers of the Solara (1MZ-FE) 1.5 & 2.0 LSDs??? C'mon guys, a lil help plz :( . I don't wanna hafta have my lil bro full on jack up my car and dismantle some sheeeit to check it out . . . :-?

Anyways, these are a couple that I've found . . .

IPT Performance Transmission LSD from JoeB's car
KAAZ 1.5 & 2.0 LSD

I remember something about the older MR2 or Corolla or Celica trans could work with ours +/- some tweaking . . . Anywayz, if these are the only one's that will fit our transmission . . . then I guess I have the KAAZ 1.5 or somethin? Help a brotha out. Shootz guyz.

I got mine from http://www.phantomgrip.com/. There is a business connection between my vendor and JoeB's. I'll let you make the call.

Quaife makes an LSD for the 5spd V6 but with a bigger price tag.

To be honest with you I don't recall if this is a 1.5 way LSD or 2 way. I went with Kaaz because of the price and it's 1.5 way that is ideal for my drag racing needs.

Here is the 411 on 1.5 way and 2 way LSDs.

The break in period was an interesting experience. I had to drive tight figure 8s for 20 minutes straight. I sure felt like throwing up afterwards.

yeah I remember those times.. it was a pain, I had a buddy go w\ me to do some of the driving... its well worth it tho.. let me tell you.. the only problem with the Kazz LSD 1.5 way is that you have to go to toyota and get a special gear ring for the LSD itself, and the speed sensor that goes into the transmission, as well as a big ring clamp that goes around the LSD... and when I went to get those, they were on back order from Japan and had 4 of the limited Slip gear ring coming into the U.S. and 3 were already ordered :o

good stuff tho.. im glad I have one in my tranny for sure
Parting out my car!!! great upgrades for sale!

Good one Scott. The gear ring was for the accurate reading for our speedometer. I used to have the part number and recall that the ring was from an sw20 MR2.
