Anyone done this yet?

I have been researching wheels for my solara for about 4 months... And have decided to go with a special setup was thinking 20x8.5 in front and 20x9.5 in the back with a 4 inch lip in the back.. Ill proably go with asanti wheels... but was wondering will 9.5 wheels even tuck in the back... how much extra room do some of you go with 8.5 dubz in your rear.. do they tuck hard or do they barely make it.. And if i cant fit this on stock rear wheel setup what can i do to assure a snug fit, or what would be best?

How about 20 X 7.5 in the front and 20 X 8.5 in the rear? No problem there...

I have been researching... most rim companies tell me nothing.... and I dont want to get all into the matter.. hence i do not even own my vehicle yet... I will get more and more into the matter when the time of purchase is upon me... I still have many rim's to go over and decide on the exact rim I want...

But yes resarch is being conducted.....

And micheal 7.5 in front and 8.5 in back sounds nice but most nice 20 inch rims are 8.5... and also the difference between 7.5 and 8.5 is big to me as far as handles on the road... ive had both on my galant and hands down the 7.5s are not as sturdy at speeds over 80mph.. but thats just my opinion.. Thanks...

You mention handling, 20's would not be the wheel of choice if you are concerned about handling.

Well thanks for the inputs... I continue to email rim companies and rim shops around the us just to see what they say about what i want to do... I am still looking for a nice body shop in the ATL area if I find one Ill let the rest of you atl solara owners know whats up...

I am not sure why you are putting wider tires in the back on a front drive car. Is there a reason for this? Does it keep the back end tucked in on the turns better? I always thought you put wider tires on the rear drive wheels for better hook up, or the same size tires front and rear on a front drive car.

My whole reason is fashion... I think it looks tight... I care less if it actually gives me more performance... Yes this is best know setup for rear wheel vehicles but I like the visual concept of the whole thing... But thats just me
