New 18's rubbing Tires 235

Postby V8killa » Wed Apr 06, 2005 8:52 am

Just installed my new rims and the back rubs when I go over dips and turn into driveways. What can I do to stop it from rubbing, I have seen cars lower than mine in the rear and they don't have these problems...

Any suggestions guys??????????

roll your fenders...and w/7.5 i didn't think it was possible rub unless the offset is off by a lot.

You could just wait untill your tire gets worn out in the back .... ... rolling the fender is best otherwise this problem will just go away as you drive.

Mine rubbed with 225's on a 7 1/2" wide rim in the same situations. I had the rear fenders rolled and everything has been fine ever since.

What was your offset???

Rolling the rear fenders has been one of the recommended solutions and it works

it should run you no more than $40 each fender and thats STEEP

My offset is +45. If it was 40, or even 42, I probably wouldn't have had the rubbing. I only had it when I had a lot of weight in the back, or I was driving very aggressively on back roads. The fender lips only had to be rolled slightly, and everything has been fine ever since.
