Ok, whats the BEST way to remove chrome? I want to remove the chrome emblems on my car and paint them red and black(for a red solara). I tried 80 grit snadpaper and it didn't come out too great...Good thing that emblem was from a junkyard toyota. Any other ideas?

Just start by giving it a lite sanding, just get some small scratches going. Then, spray some primer, paint and clear coat. Junests emblems turned out very nice (with artic frost touch up spray), but unfortunately no pics. As long as the primer sticks, the paint will. Good luck and gets some pics when your finished! :D

Hmmm...that was probably my problem. I sanded like a maniac until I got down to the plastic! Then it came out looking like s**t! If sanding a little and priming works, that sounds good to me! :D I assume I would use a primer that would stick to metal? I think...

I just saw this spray stuff on TV that says it is the only paint that sticks to plastic. I missed what it was called though sorry
