NNED HELP WITH STRUTS!

NNED HELP WITH STRUTS!

Postby Solara916 » Thu Apr 28, 2005 9:06 am

Please, can anyone tell me how to get to my rear struts. My dad had changed my rear struts, and everything was going fine, but now it sounds like one of the struts is loose and has been rattling like crazy. It sounds like something is going to fall off.

I can't get to my dad, and I don't want to pay the $50/hr at a shop to have them tear my rear up, tighten the strut and then put it back together. If there is anyone in Sac that could help me out, I'd appreciate it. If not, can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to do it myself.

you have to take your rear seats and rear panels all out... then you can access your struts after everything is pulled out...

damn..i should have taken pictures when i replaced my rears ones this last weekend..

anyways, you have to remove the bench seat first(it snaps right off, lift from the front of it), then take the seat belt off which is attached to the pillar. Flip up the pastic and the bolt will be exposed. (14mm i think)then take off the screws that are on top where the hook is (look near the roof), then the two screws that hold that bar to the panel (its the one people grab when you start driving fast.lol), then remove all the attaching panels which snap off, just the top one, its the one that goes around your side windows. then you remove the clippings (they look like pins) that hold the rear deck in place. there are also three bolts on top of that. you can't miss those. they are on top, take the plastic piece of and remove bolts. once that comes off you have take out the seat belts..just take the far left one off, and the far right one off. and wahla..the struts are exposed...

if you have a rear sway bar check that first before taking all the panels off, the sqeaking could be that..i thought something was wrong with my struts, since the sound was so loud, but in the end it was my sway bar.

thanks milt for training me man..thats my nigg right there..fo sho...

if i missed anything feel free to chime in....
