Postby s15lara » Mon May 02, 2005 5:20 pm

hey guys, well just so you guys know (and i know that a lot of people have been saying this but never did it) im doing the s15 headlight conversion to my 99 solara. :bday: i do have one question though: im looking to add HID to the headlights, but im not sure which ones to get. i dont mean brand, i mean what bulbs to buy. if im not mistaken, i believe that the one for the s15 headlights is h1. am i right? wrong? now what do i have to do to get this to work? im lost here guys, can you help a brotha out? also, the factory lights for the solara would be what? 9006? would i have to get a diff. type of adapter to fit both diffrent types of bulbs? what do i do? help!!!!

P.S. if you guys want some pics of the work done so far let me know. ill be more than happy to post them up for you guys.

thanks

thanx guys for all the help that you gave *(sarcasm)*. ill post them tomorrow as soon as i take some. im also putting in some fender flares all around with the full octane kit. im lowered with tein ss coilovers, got the TRD hood going and some glossy black 19" rims that ill be putting on once they get here. the back bumper is going to be molded as are the side skirts.

now on to the original question though and my prob. im looking to see what i can/have to do. im trying to see how im going to hook up the HID. the bulbs for the s15 headlights and for the oem headlights are diff. how do i go about making this work? the plug for the oem lights wont work for the new s15 headlights ( i wanna keep the s15 bulbs) and i WANT HID without retrofitting it so that i use the solara bulbs. i wanna use the sylvia ones (i cant reiterate that enough (spelling?)) should i get the HID's to be for the s15's and just somehow splice into the old plugs? HELP IM LOST!!!!!! guys, i need to know something by the end of the week so i can get them from the sticky cuz my car should be done in no more than two weeks. any help is and will be appreciated.

yo rafael....who did you get to do the body work to your car? I've seen some guy show with bodywerks that has a camry that had the s15 headlights on. You might want to ask them. They might know.

damn, i was all reading your posts like, "oh, i'ma do that...i'ma do that, too."

and now that you said that color, i'm thinkin' about switchin' up my original plan of midnight blue....

sounds nice though. what i'd do (prolly mentioned earlier) just get an H1 kit to fit the s15's and splice the wires in.
