Hey guys, just bought some new wheels, they are:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... %3AIT&rd=1

and I was planning on wrapping them with some 225-40's after reading all the posts on reccomended tire sizes. Anyone know how these tires rate for noise, wear, etc?

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... mpare1=yes

Thanks for the help guys, feel free to make other reccomendations! :D

Yeah, I was actually looking at some Falken ziex's for around $500 also, but I just wanted to check the others before I made a purchase. These kuhmos have a pretty good treadwear rating also, that is some nice insurance, but I am not sure about their road noise.

I have the 235/40/18 Kuhmo ECSTA MX and they have been really good tires for me so far. Handles like a dream, I don't even hear a screech from them.

I just got Continental Contisport Contact's off Tirerack for $100/per. See if that deal's still going, I love them and they're rated higher than the kumho's...

WortownSolara passed this piece of advice to me, and I'll perpetuate it further:

I have Falken's on mine and I love them. I got them back in december of '03 and i still have some relatively good tread life left.

When I upgraded my rims, I put on a set of Bridgestone Potenza G009s. They are directional, but really sticky in the rain. Dont have any comparison for noise, but they have a good treadlife rating, check them out on tirerack.

Nice lip on the Enkei's.
I've never had a complaint when I had Kuhmo's.
I loved my Yok Paradas though.

Alright, I think I am going to get the Kuhmos after reading their reviews. Now I just have to decide if it is worth the extra $80 to get 235's instead of 225's...

Also, what do you guys think of tirerack's road hazard program? Is it worth it? Thx.

Well honestly depending around your area. Do a lot of tires pop cause of bad roads? If yes, than it is worth it. If you just want to get to be on the safe side than thats cool. Honestly tires don't pop ALL the time but all-too-creative-crap does happen. It's really up to you.
