Passport 8500 (older model, probably newer one now) or Valentine One.

My buddy hardwired a passport to his GTI and it's saved him several times.

I have Beltronics 985, and it works good.
Cobra sucks anyway.
The only good one are Passport, Beltronics, and Valentine radar detectors.
My bro has had the Bel 985 in his car lately, and he said he even picked up and under cover cop [here in OKC we have unmarked cop cars].
Ours picks up pretty far too.
Sometimes the Bel 985 will go off on "K" and "Ka" band, and we look around and see nothin', no cops around then we will finally see him along ways from us, when we pass him, or he passes us.

^^ I love my BEL's - i have 4!!, my only prob w. them is the speakers gives in easily (but its only a 3 dollar part at radioshac and saudering gun to fix it!). If i get more tickets then i will get v1, but till then i'm safe!
