hey. ok i know this topic has been covered thosands of times but im having one of my friends make my mesh grille. i was wondering.. should i tell him to leave the mesh silver or should it paint it black cuz im not sure wat would look best on my red. im also thinkin of having him paint the outside of the grille red to match the car. so.. should i pay $100 cuz this guys real good and everything but is tht too much? thnks

i would definitely paint the outside of the grille the color of the car...personally, i think it looks so much better. a couple of members have done that, in particular greg comes to mind (paladin is his member name). I did it myself, but i haven't posted pics yet.

your price quote seems about right. i asked a local shop about doing mine and he quoted me $85 since he didn't have my paint code already made ($45 if he did have the paint). But i decided to do it myself. the paint doesn't match exactly, but i'm satisfied with it.

I'm in the process of painting my grill diamond white pearl. It's looking great so far, just have to clear coat it. Should have pics up Sunday. 8)

Here's the completed painted grill...3 coats base white, 3 coats pearl, 4 coats clear. I'll post photos of it installed on the car later today in the pics area. 8)

hey i have a quick question b4 i get my grille. should i get 2 layers of mesh or jus 1?? which would look better. also im thinkin of gettin silver mesh instead of black. sound good?

"toy4x4boy"............good job on that grill, I don't see any runs or nothing......like the paint job.

"BradOwens".........I think just a layer of mesh would be good because if you put 2 layers of mesh it might just look like a solid piece from a distance. IMO, single piece of mesh looks good.
