Ebay intakes

Ebay intakes

Postby Strider327 » Mon May 16, 2005 10:57 pm

Hey everyone, I want to know if the ebay intakes for the v6 solaras work properly. Does anybody know if the intake sensors fit right into the hole and will there be a check engine light? Please let me know which one is the best one to get that WORKS properly without problems.

Thanks,
Calvin

The ebay intake can work, when you dissemble the airbox just take everything off up to the resonator w/ the tube going into the crank vent case. The ebay intakes are design shorter so it only has the hole for the small tube, MAF Sensor, and EGR. Just leave the the crank vent tube in when you dissemable the airbox and it should be fine.

Even though it works and everything I felt barely any gains. Honestly I felt more power with Injen Short Ram and adding the UPFD Cold Air Extension you will a lot more power throughout the RPM.

I have the Injen short ram intake installed in my car.....haven't had any problems with it since I got it back in the day.

.........hmmmm maybe I should look into getting the CAI from RJ also.

.........IMHO.....I wouldn't get half the stuff ebay has to offer b/c it is just garbage....very rare that you will find some quality stuff on there for sale.....don't get me wrong I'm not saying everything on there is worthless......just a good amount of things they sell that are generic knock-offs..........but some parts make for some great projects pending on the price you end up paying.

"StockSolara"....do you remember how much the CAI from RJ was going for off hand ?

Yeah...Ebay BS works...But once you hit about 4 or 5 K...It feels like the engine wants to blow...I havent tried Injen ram only yet since Im runnning the K&N which as of last saturday.. It is still restrictive.. So yeah..EBAY IS ONLY FOR SOUNDS not performance..I learned that :)

Yeah I hear all you guys. I already know the jig pretty much cause I can design my own intakes. I did for my last car, my 1994 Toyota Camry I4. But the only reason why I ask is because fucken injen short ram is 200+ dollars and damn that's a lot. I was thinking if I can get the ebay ones and if they work properly I can custom build the rest of the intake. My only issue is the sensor holes and I've done searches already and found that the check engine light might come on. So I basically just need some straight info on whomever has ever gotten one.

Thanks for info about injen intake though, but 200+ is just way out of the range especially for a short ram which to me is not worth 200 dollars.

I got it for $100 but I think the last time he posted up it was up to $115 now I'm not quite sure.

Hi
My names Brad Waxter I'm from T & A Designs the manufacturers of the "Ebay" Intake...
Our Intakes are stringently tested for structural ridgidity on every car we make the ram for...
The third hole was not designed so you can shove the remaining tube up your arse....

See.....this is what you can get on Ebay....its full of disease and filth..like carbon fiber coin trays and powder coated mirrors...Buy from reputable companys like Ingen or Eiback,Bilstien,...bahhhhh....

If you still want to design your own check out the one I did on my web site. The ebay one has a pipe that is too big and the sensor sits in he wrong place causing it to read less air then it should. HKS makes a MAF sensor adapter you may want to look into it
