New Clutch from SPEC

New Clutch from SPEC

Postby shidosha01 » Tue May 17, 2005 7:17 pm

Well...

"tabasco" finally has a new and stronger clutch. It now sports SPEC Stage III F with SPEC lightened flywheel. I'm in the process of breaking in for 500 miles and then I'll test it out at the track. Apparantly the SPEC Stage III couldn't hold the amount of power "tabasco" was putting to the wheels. About 20 passes at MIR and regular street driving. :( This new Stage III F was special order from SPEC which allows smooth engagement but able to withstand abuse and HUGE amounts of power. I'll keep you guys posted on this new clutch and lightened flywheel works out.

I'm feeling very good about this new clutch because I pulled that 13.38 with the old one towards the end of the racing season. C'mon 12s. :D

When I bought the stage III, it I thought it said it could hold 492 lb*ft. Still not enough holding power???

Apparently not. I was surprised how the Stage III wore out quickly. You've got to also consider the weight of our cars too. We'll see how the new SPEC Stage III F holds up.
