OK well as you guys know I installed my SC a few weeks ago and I've been noticing that my whole engine is dirty as heck with some sort of black power ... is this normal??? (see pics below)

This is just a normal pic of the engine, right in front of the SC ... looks normal, right ...wroooong

i showed the pic to my brother
he says it might be belt shavings...make sure nothing is touching the belts and check the tensioner..

Hey bro,

I think your belt is grinding against itself where you have the dynamic pretensioner. :o just from what i see in the pics. Do you have the proper belt diameter? Also, just from observation, the belt seems to be thin. Check to see if your running a 86.7" or so belt diameter. That's all i can think of. Good luck man. :angel:

Make sure its not rubbing. Open hood run the motor have someone rev it to make sure the tensioner is moving. I had a little powder after I intiall installed mine.

take the drive belt off, check all pulleys to make sure they are smooth. then make sure all bolts were properly secured and check the routing of the belt

snapped belt = ouch.

belt rubbing

Dont call the shop your all set man. Thats just dust form the belt since its brand new. It happened to me as well as three other guys i know with the same setup. Wait a couple weeks it will stop then pressure wash the engine and you'll be good to go.

Definitally Belt shavings... I get that and some metal shavings from the idler pulley hitting the actual setup... its normal

check the belt to see if rubbing on something, guys say that its normal, i guess so? pressure wash the engine it'll look like new.
