Melting headlight sockets/DOT/SAE compliant

Has anyone ever had their sockets or piece that is right in front of the bulb melt from having a higher wattage bulb? I have Polarg Shining Wizard bulbs that have a wattage of 60/55. I believe thats normal...These look like 130/100 watts as it says on the package. Has anyone tried any other JDM bulbs and had problems? I'm hoping these won't melt anything and be more trouble then their worth...

Also, does anyone know where I can find a page that shows DOT/SAE compliance of car bulbs? I want to print it out and put it in my car just incase I get stopped by cops. Then I can tell them (to myself) to shovethe ticket up their a@@!

Never had a melting problem.

Most manufacturers label the package if it's legal or for "off road use only"
