dumbasses

yo guys i jacked the car up and took a look with a flashlight... something is cracked im hoping its just a frame... the damage is on the drivers side in the front... the "frame" runs from the drivers side to the passenger side about 2 inch thick... sits in the order from inside to out: "frame", front sway bar, wheels. That is just a frame and i shouldn't worry about that right?

Also, the transmission pan looked like it was stained badly, but when i went to touch it , it was dry... the stain also is on the "frame" which is also dry. Thats normal right? (hoping its ilke stains on oil pans)

Man I can tell you, I hope there is nothing that needs to be fixed, cause that damn dumbell did some damage to the frame that runs between the front and rear wheels. Some people are just idiots... I hope they get theirs someday soon

did you run over it with your tires, or drive over it? a 5 lb dumbell isnt large enough to do anything even lowered. if you ran over it with your tire, it may have popped the other side up causing the damage....

good luck

Damn Rich I hate to hear that. A couple things I'd check ASAP:

1. Front/rear struts for leaks.
2. Engine oil for leaks. (pans and lines)
3. Transmission for leaks. (pan and lines)
4. Front end alignment.
5. Exhaust system for damage/leaks.
6. Drive train damage.
7. Suspension for damage.

Just to sum it up take the thing in and get a full under-carriage inspection.

Good luck my friend!

If its just scraped metal on the under carrage, I'd at leasted have the effected areas under coated (with one of those 3M undercoat spray cans if the damage is just some nicks). Just to keep it from rusting in the winter. I don't know how your winters are but in Mich the winters sock :x and the salt they apply here is like gravel trails. Salt+gravel trail= dings and rust.

Glad your OK.

is that the lwoer control arm cracked? It's such a bad angle I can't tell what it is... unless it's just the front cross bar x_x

The "oil stain" looks ok. It's probably been there. If you notice any drippage in your driveway... then you gotta replace that sucker. If not, you're fine until the "CHECK TRANS FLUID" or "CHECK ENGINE OIL" lights come on lol (low fluid levels)

As for that crack, go do a few left and right turns w/ the window open during night (no other ppl/cars around) so you can hear it. If there is a creaking noise, popping noise, 'loose metal in the rim' noise, etc... then go have it checked out professionally.

---

I've ran over a spoiler before... LOL... I wasn't paying attention... it looked like a wet spot on the road... unfortunately... no... lol but nothing happened

there are many possbilities, you just have to do some carefully observations. however, it is really depend on where did you hit. typically it would damage maybe one or many of following

1. engine oil pan
2. fuel line (rare sine it is covered)
3. fuel tank
4. suspension arms
5. cat-convetor
6. exhaust system
7. front or rear subframe
8. radiator
9. bumpers/ aerodynamic accessories

my friend's civic ran over a box and that bursted the radiator.
