Insurance and driving other people's cars
Hows that work? Are you insured when you drive someone else's car? If someone runs into you, whos insurance do you contact? What if the other car is registered out of state?
Ive tried googling and I cant find anything definitive.
I'm in a no-fault state if that matters.
Long story is I got a friend from NY with a 5spd Kia, and he just bought a new car. He was tossin around the idea of teachin me stick for a day and lending me the car for a week to practice on. I don't wanna do that unless I'm covered though.
Also got another friend (NJ, local) whos goin to Europe for a while and wants me to carsit. Shes convinced I'm not covered at all if I drive it. I wanna see if I can drive that around if I need to put my Solara in the shop.
Thanks in advance.
