I don't think I have seen 1 that will be direct slide in over the stock handle without removing the stock handle piece..........all those aftermarket E-brake handle (from ebay or speed shop) required you to remove your stock handle then slide the new one in and set it with a set-screw from the bottom......
I have never cut my e-brake and install those aftermarket handle, but I have seen those who did on HONDA or other japanese car....I think (again, I think, use your judgement and guess Solara is one of the same as those HONDA).......all you have to do is CUT the handle in the middle, and rip the stock piece out, then slide the aftermarket one in....
Again, it is point of no return, so if you decided to cut, see you can cut it from the SIDE, and LOWER is better.........just in case Solara E-brake handle is NOT as easy as Honda's you can GLUE it back and since it is from the side, and bottom, it won't be too visable....
I don't believe this mod is that bad............just a handle, not a timing belt change....
