I bought the same battery. Like sto, until about a week ago, I was on the original battery from the new purchase in 2/99. Then after not ever having any trouble with it, 1 morning I went out and it was dead and wouldn't even take a charge. What did you do to hold down the Optima Red top? I went to stick it in the stock battery holder and the top hold-down bar wouldn't go down low enough to hold the battery. Fortunately, I bought this nice shiny billet battery hold down box that I used insted. 8) -JoeB


I used the Stock battery hold down. What i did was get 1/2 MDF wood and cut it to the size of the battery and then i spray painted it black. That way its not noticable. Then i placed it on the bottom to raise the battery up far enought for the tie down to fit snug...

When i get some time ill try to take some pics..

Except, I used Tompson's water sealer on a 1/2" MDF board. :D 8)
