Please help!!

I was in an accident (some idiot T-boned me when he ran a red light) -my car has been totalled. Luckily the supercharger was not damaged, so I can take it off and put it up for sale.

So...does anyone know how difficult it is to remove the supercharger? My car is at the salvage lot so I don't have the option to tow it to a mechanic. I figure I can get a couple friends to help me, but I don't know how knowledgable they need to be.

Thanks in advance!

Honestly, that thought hasn't even crossed my mind, I've just been tied up with the chaotic aftermath of this whole thing. I can post a price by the end of the week?

Tough break, on the bright side you can start over with a different project. I guess w/o knowing how intimate your knowledge of the 1mz-fe s/c, here is a little advice; make sure to get the egr tube, strut tower brace, all applicable vacuum hoses, wiring / harnesses, fasteners, etc...

If you have all the parts and can post pics, you should be able to sell it for around $1000 on this forum.

Actually, there are probably a lot of parts you could sell here, don't know how much they will let you take though.

I'm trying to look at the bright side of things - at least I only walked away with some bad bruises and whiplash. The guys who were on the scene told me that if my wheel hadn't shattered (there went my 19"s) on the curb, the car would have probably flipped. The guy who hit me got out of his car and ran and the cops won't do anything about it, the car was never reported stolen... it's one crappy situation. Once I get the pics, I'll post them.

I know I probably sound like a Toyota commercial, but I went to Cali this last weekend for my cousins graduation and found an '04 Solara, I just really like that car. Hopefully I'll have just as much fun with this one.

I appreciate your responses. For those of you interested in the S/C I'll get some pics and info posted soon.

Thanks!!

If your car was an auto tranny don't forget the ebc. REMOVAL IS NOT HARD AT ALL.

Spadwaller-
The cop told me that since nobody can put the guy at the scene of the crime he will be found not guilty. I did get a lawyer, they are just taking forever to do anything. They haven't even found out if the jerk has insurance or not. I'm pretty sure there are red light runner cameras on that intersection, so maybe it got a pic of the guy? I dunno, I guess we'll see...

Paladin06Greg-
I had a manual, will that make a big diff?

Naw you're OK. I see you're in Phoenix. I lived in Gilbert from 94 to 2002. My wife and I worked for Boeing over in Mesa. I'm doing my best to get back there. To be honest, I've no idea why I left. Must have had a senior moment!!

Elfumador- I can't say they didn't look at all, my Dad said they went around the block... maybe it was time for their donut break.. lol.

Paladin06Greg- Blame it on the heat - temporary insanity
At least it's a dry heat tho, right? LOL I don't travel to Gilbert often, if you get the opporunity to relocate, would you choose Gilbert again? I'm trying to move downtown to be closer to work, but the housing market is insane right now.

i bet forensics can put a picture of his frowning asse right back in that car. one hair off his head could do the trick.

but if your hired lawyer cant do the trick... i say hire a hitman. maybe a solaraguy hitman that really wants your supercharger.

LOL - Nah, no hitman. Quite honestly I'd rather see him have to take a bus everywhere. Waiting outside in 110+ temps, thats enough torture to make him think about how stupid he is 8) Then to top it off, I could drive by the bus stop in my new car with the AC blowing full blast and honk and wave at him. Hehehe...

The mechanics my Dad takes our company cars to will remove the S/C in the next couple of days! I'll keep you all posted.
