Steering Emblem + Leather

you might be able to get a place that does custom interiors to restitch is for you. I'm sure it'll be cheaper then the $800 steering wheel you were looking at.

will the toyota emblem on the trunk fit onto the steering wheel? if not, perhaps you could find it at a junk yard?

You might wanna try one of the emblems off a newer Solara, Camry or Corolla steering wheel if you got a local junkyard around you........just use a flat head screw driver and pop the emblem out.....dunno if it'll fit where the engraved emblem is on your wheel b/c its engraved out and not in.

....if you do get it to fit make sure its one there, god forbid you get into an accident and the thing flys at your face when the airbag pops out.

ill second that last comment. if that emblem is not attached rediculously tight you could seriously injure yourself when the airbag deploys.

I have the Gen1 Solara, and I noticed nearly all new cars have a nice chrome emblem on the steering wheel instead of a stamped pattern. I tried asking my local dealership, but they don't have any aftermarket emblems for my particular model. Is there maybe a similar-sized emblem that I could get?

Also, the leather wrapping on my steering wheel is starting to discolor with the top portion going rough. Is there any way to just replace that bit of leather (maybe even Alcantra like the M3), and how much would it be? I'd get an $800 3-spoke steering wheel swap with airbags, steering controls and the whole schmeer, but I'm broke for the moment.

Thank you,

-Ed

the emblem is on a piece of plastic and its inlayed into the leater. maybe an upholstry shop can help you put it in since the plastic piece should be larger inside the leather piece. or (if you can afford it and if it fits) i believe the newer TRD steering wheels have the toyota emblem like what you're looking for.

That chrome emblem is actually on airbags for 2002-2003 solara's. So if you were to swipe airbags, that would be one route! (i would certainly turn out OEM but expensive).

For the steering wheel, search for wheelskins, i've heard nothing but good things about them!
