what is it for? theres a little L shaped rubber piece that extends the hole. should i seal it up with silicone?

That L-shaped hole in the corner lamps are made to prevent your corners from fogging up and moisture & condensation build up.....don't seal them up.

No prob........if you just got those clear corners, you might want to also add some extra silicone to the casing before installing them b/c some of them are known to fog up.

just seal the edges where the plastic lens joins the rest of the corner.
