I had a set on my Gen2 that I had to return due to the G2 having floating calipers. Are the covers pricey for what they are? Sure. However, if you compare them to the time, money, and effort it takes to paint them, well, I think the value is still there.

IMHO, the stock calipers look like my ex-mother-in-law in shorts (READ: Not appealing!)

I do want to say "kudos" on the TRD logo on the covers. Looks good and it doesn't look like an afterthought.

What do you mean? TRD will never make a brake kit or anything of the sort for the Solara.

TRD is now defunct (spell check me!). Toyota is now running TRD. Hopefully they throw in someone from Tachi Oiwa Motor Sport (TOM^S) so that TRD USA will actually make parts worth having :D

But ya... TRD sublets the kits to be made as 'one-offs' for their personal use (Pace car, Demo car, show car, etc)
1GR-FE ftw!
