Year: 1999
v6/I4: V6
Auto/Manual transmission: Auto
Mileage of your car: 50,300
Tire size: 205/60/16
Force induction: none
Intake Mod: none (note: I have an injen short ram but haven't tracked my mpg since it's installation)
Exhaust Mod: none
Octane used: 93 Ammoco Ultimate (what's up with so many people using 91 and below, I understand the 4's but you V6's should really be running 93)
spark plug used: whatever the dealership had in there
engine oil used: whatever the dealsership had in there
average mile per gallon: 17-21ish (I do have an affection for the accelerator although I try and be good to my car)
freeway/local driving %: 50/50

That's all pretty sketchy, especially since I'm not sure what kind of oil I'm on, but I'm guessing 10w-40. I haven't changed my oil since I got it a month or so ago, I'm doing that this weekend. After I do that and get my new tires and what not I'll test with my intake and see how it all goes.

An it was also a rough tracking on a full tank, with the trip meter and some bad math. I've done it twice, and once it came out way lower, hence the varied results. So everyone direguard this and I'll try again when I get everything all set up right without so many variables.

My 4th July weekend trip to Anaheim, CA was a blast down the 60 after coming from the I-10. 10th time I've gone through this freeway and the tight curves and double lanes are soo sexay that I take my car for a thrill ride while passing the slow folk who can't take the turns in the mountainways. 65Mph zone.
91oct helps a lot on the uphills.

In CT 65mph zone is on highways only. I guess you live in a better state then :)

I don't doubt it. I don't know for sure what I'm talking abuot here but wouldn't the fact that it's less combustable mean that that you're not burning it off as fast, or it's not combusting as freely and quickly as a higher octane? Maybe I'm wrong. I know the manual says it nly requires 87 octane, and maybe it's all placebo but I feel like my car drives better when I put 93 in. It could be all in my head, but I like it and for that the MPG doesn't kill me. It does make sense though that a less combustable gas would get more MPG, but I don't know exactly what I'm tlaking about when it comes to that.

And that sucks that most places in Cali are 91 octane. I almost always run on 93 Ammoco Ultimate, the one that has the commercial witth eh clear cars and you see everyone elses dirty gasoline. Yeah baby, I'm crystal clear!
(note: I fall for marketing schemes like clear gas being way better)

Also, how much does premium generally run per gallon out there in Cali?
