bottled water mixed with radiator fluid, safe?

Is it safe to subsitute bottled water for distilled water when mixing radiator coolant? I wanna make sure , b4 i start.

I use 22x (250ml) bottles of Evian mixed with a dash of sweat from a virgin along with a coolant of choice. J/K

Any H20 is just fine. Tap water works just as well with exception that it carries some minerals or flourides. (Certainly not enough to cause any concern)

Why would you want to bottled water. Go to your local target/walmart..and get a couple of gallons of distilled water. I buy them for my steam iron (makes em last foever if you use distilled water). At walmart they are like 69c a gallon! I'm guessing your bottled water is more expensive!

I am not sure where you got your information ifrom but I completely disagree. As Jai_Jai_Binks said there is absolutely no reason to use bottled water. First of all, bottled water and distilled water are different. Bottled water can be glorified tap water, purified water, or spring water - all of which contain minerals.

Second of all, the minerals are of concern. Sure, in a closed system where the water never boils off it wouldn't be an issue, but if the water wasn't boiling off/leaking, you would never have to refill it.

Do yourself a favor and get distilled water

Manufacture suggests distilled water.
So that is what you should use.

and also if you use distilled water in your Irons it will prevent rust and corrosion....Distilled water prevents this from happening to the radiator as well...I know I fix appliances...79 cents at Walfart..
