High Output Alternators

FYI -

I have a 170 amp DIRECT BOLT-ON replacement for your application. By "direct bolt-on" I mean you will not have to make any bracket modifications or wire harness adaptations. The alternator that we offer for your vehicle is a Denso, part # 66582, and is priced at $649. When you are ready to place your order, please feel free to call me at (563)-323-3337 ext.106 with your shipping and credit card information, and I will take your order over the phone. We do accept checks and money orders, but we do have to wait until they clear before we can enter your order into production.

Thanks for checking us out and I hope that we will be the answer for all your high output alternator needs!

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Josh Reed

OK, found a 150 amp for $240 at http://www.mralternator.com/alternators/toyota.html.

They list the 94-02 Camry 3.0 which takes the same alternator as my 2000 Solara. So says Toyota!

alt. upgrade

Postby hskrsolara » Fri Jul 15, 2005 11:03 pm

Greg, I respect you and all, but that is a f-ing ripoff!!! I had a 150 custom built for my 94 camry (2.2) for 250, shipped, from halfway across the U.S., last summer!!! Direct bolt on also, so I would definitely invest in a more reasonable manufacturer! No way in hell is anyone gonna pay $650!

I have a brand new "Stinger" direct fit 210 amp (custom built for me) which I got for $473 (thats with Massachusetts sales tax of 5%). More power, and lower cost. I had to have it though, I am using three Audison HR-100 which pull 60 amps max a peice, five audiocontrol EQT's, and an epicenter. Even with a 5 farad cap my were headlights still flashing, but not with this thing. I am also using Stingers battery splitter, and a trunk mounted Optima gel cell. $650 is unreasonable.

I'm curious as to how much horsepower gets sucked up driving an alternator that strong.
