My stock gen1 solara came with a stainless steel tip? (i've seen other solara's with the tip too). Go to autozone and buy the 30 buck tips and do a DIY! Its basic screws and bolts!

u can get one at autozone or pepboys...but why not get a cat-back...or custom exhaust done at a muffler shop. those will sound much better

Hey man, tips are an expression of style. Go cheap, and you look cheap.

Chrome tips will eventually peel and flake off. Other side effects are discoloration and prone to rusting at spots that have been nicked by rocks. So please skip the AutoZone tips.

Large round coffee can looking tips are appropriate for ricer Hondas.

Recommendation: Double walled stainless steel. Pick one with an inlet ID that is very close to the OD of your tailpipe. Skip the set screw and have a muffler shop just weld it on. (You'll thank me later since the welded tip won't come off going down the 401 or in the middle of a carwash. )

My personal preference is for an oval tip. Post up some pics of your ride and a close up on the current muffler and I make some recommendations on tips we make.

Of course, I agree that just changing the muffler would be better. (but more expensive.)

Not exactly true! My last tip was 'chromish' for 13 years under my ownership and till date when i see my old celica, its still got that chromish tip (now being 16 years old). not an ounce of rust, just use chrome polish when you wash your car. when i sold her, she was still with her OEM muffler, so no rust problems....

Edit: FYI, out of the 13 years of ownership of my old celica, she was in Wisconsin for 11 years, so this is not a TX, so-Cal non rusting issues!

My bad. TX and SoCal are not going to have these issues like the majority of the US.

Chrome can come in different quality levels. The tips sold in AutoZone are crap. I can say this because we make AutoZone's tips. (low carbon tube or aluminized tubing with a flash coating of chrome.) They're just intended to be a cheap alternative to the OE tip.

why get a ricer tip on a stock solara?!? I understand looks but thats a basic analogy of getting a hood scoop, neon floor mats, and skull led window washer nozzles
