Checking interest in carbon fiber products

Checking interest in carbon fiber products

One of your members Taylor asked me to see if there would be any interest in custom carbon fiber products. We have the capability to do anything. Here is a link to a cardomain site that has some pictures of the products we do now . Here are a couple pictures as examples

very nice....but i would say it is all depend on pricing. do you put on the clear coat or just clear gel over the CF? Would you give wrranty on no fading clear coating over the carbon fiber, which is pretty common that you can see on most of CF prodcut right now.

I'd definately be interested in a CF hood (non-oem style) and a trunk w/lip spoiler. Also, I would like to see some interior trim pieces. Man, that rear deck lid looked pretty cool.
What is the 2nd pic for, rear deck lid also? The 3rd pic looks like interior roof lining...

Here is a break down of what the parts are above and what we sell them for, so you can see kinda our pricing.

94-01 Integra Full carbon door panels $549 pair
95-99 Eclipse rear cargo cover $215 (red)
95-99 Eclipse Headliner $295
94-01 Integra Rear cargo cover $175

The integra is my car.

As far as surfacing, we use a gel coat the Valspar makes for us. It is 10 times more UV resistant then ViS's surface. We vacuum infuse everything we make. This means we put everything in the molds dry then inject the resin. This means very light and NO air in the laminate. Our products are garunteed to be lighter and at least 3 times stronger then companies like ViS, Fiber Images, C-wings ect... Not knocking their products but our manufacturing processes quite more advanced then many companies. Our products are closest to Pre-preg (dry carbon) without the high prices.

This is how most carbon fiber products are made

As you can see from the picture below, Here is a piece ready for infusion. Everything is put under very strong pressure, and then at the right moment resin is then injected into the laminate. Since there is no air before the resin is added, there will be no air in the part. Plus we use EPOXY!!! based resins. NO POLYESTER resins like just about everyone else. This makes them stronger and lighter.

Postby hskrsolara » Sat Jul 23, 2005 11:15 am

I would be interested in some carbon fiber on the console, shifter surround, wood panels in the doors, door handles (inside), gauge cluster, speaker grills, window/locks panel. Man that stuff would look sweet! I wonder how much all those little pieces would cost?
