Stainless Steel Brake Lines
I did a search but couldn't find reference to my specific problem. I bought Goodridge SS Brake Lines, part #21064, which is supposed to fit the V6 Solara. I went to install them last week as part of a complete brake job (also installed zinc-plated drilled rotors, ceramic pads, and painted the calipers).
But the brake lines didn't fit! More specifically, the pressure fittings fit correctly, but the mounting points didn't. The bracket that bolts the line to the strut would not place the brake line into the correct position, and the chassis mount end was the wrong size, preventing me from putting the end completely through the bracket on the fender wall, which in turn prevented me from installing the clip which secures the line at that end.
It seems that others have installed these same lines, so I'm wondering what gives. Did you do modifications to allow correct fitment?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
